Fun and Food in Baltimore

Happy Sunday peeps!

If you've been following my Instagram photos, you may have seen that I spent last weekend in Baltimore, Maryland visiting one of my best friends and old college roommate [side note: hi Kathleen! thanks for not hating me when I needed to stop and take pictures every five minutes]. One thing people asked about or mentioned was that they had no idea that Baltimore could be a destination or that they had no idea how cute the town is. My goal here is to change that because I had the best time!

Pretty in Palm Print

Hello hello!

I just returned home from one of the best trips of my life (sooo many details to share there, I visited six countries in ten days). But that will come later because that is not what this post is about!

Part of the vacation prep consisted of shopping for the perfect outfits to wear in some of these destinations. Before I went on this trip, I was spending weekends exploring cities in the United States, for most of which the dress code did not call for tropical prints.

Now normally I'm one to dress in neutral, understated tones but I have plenty of bright colors sitting in my closet that I was ready to put to good use, along with many items in various online shopping carts that I was ready to buy wear out in a sunny place.

A Day In DC

Hello there!

The summer has been getting the best of me and I’ve been spending my days relaxing and exploring, but I’ve finally gotten the blogging bug again!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I visited Washington, DC recently. This was the latest of many trips – I’ve been down quite a few times since one of my oldest friends went to college there and is now living and working there as a teacher. Since I’ve been there multiple times, I’ve been lucky enough to experience some more “local” activities outside of the places you’d typically think of as tourist destinations in DC – and that’s what I’m sharing with you today!

Washington DC is actually the perfect place for a quick day or weekend trip, especially if you live along the East Coast. If you leave at the right time, it’s super easy to drive there. Even better though is taking an Amtrak train – I took one to and from New York City for a couple of days, and it was extremely comfortable and quick. Plus, Union Station in DC is absolutely stunning!
